Great Kielerwoche 2022 regatta for Team Aruba!
The biggest regatta of the year with all sail classes, including the Olympic class IQ foil has just won been by Ethan Westera! The whole week Aruba achieves good results with 3 Arubians athletes competing in Germany and Ethan was on fire for the top of the ranking. The final day is always the medal race for the top 10 only. Aruba was very well represented on this final race with Ethan Westera and Malik Hoveling.
After racing the quarter finals and half finals Ethan reached the final against 2 well known German IQ foilers one of them the winner of last year Kieler Woche Sebastian Koerdel and with amazing result for Aruba! So, Aruba no 1 and 2th and 3th place Germany. For Ethan, Malik and Tom it has been the best result so far and very promising for the road to Paris!
Kielerwoche 2021 was the first time for Aruba competing there in the official Olympic class with one athlete. This year Aruba came with 4 athletes: 3 IQ foil and 1 ILCA 7! First place for Ethan Westera,
5th place for Malik and 12th for Tom de Vries. Just van Aenholt made it to the gold fleet as well…
Aruba was on fire in Kiel!
